Match One: University of Texas Dallas (7-1) vs. Tulsa University (3-3) The first match of the night saw UTD face off against Tulsa. The first map saw the teams play hardpoint on Gun Runner, where UTD looked dominant. Even when Tulsa was rotating first, UTD was able to break in and take control easily and they won the game 250-42. Game two was then search and destroy on Arklov Peak, where UTD kept their foot on the pedal and bullied their way to a map win 6-2. The third map was then domination on Hackney Yard, and UTD just kept rolling. The first half ended with UTD up 113-39, and the second half was much of the same and saw UTD close it out 219-86 to finish the series 3-0. Match Two: Miami (Ohio) (3-4) vs. Concord Maroon (10-0) The first map of the match was hardpoint on Gun Runner, and in the map, and Concord Maroon showed off their gun skill throughout the game, winning the map 250-45. The second game saw the teams face off on Arklov Peak for search and destroy. Again, Concord Maroon just had too much gun skill for Miami (Ohio) to keep up in the slaying department and Concord Maroon won the map 6-0. The third map of the series was Gun Runner domination and it was basically the same thing as before, with Concord Maroon up 116-35 at halftime. The second half was no different as Concord Maroon won the map 220-80 and the series 3-0. Match Three: Carleton (7-1) vs. Maryland (6-5) The first map of match three was hardpoint on Gun Runner, and it was a great first rotation practically being a tied game, but Carleton played really well on the second rotation of hills allowing them to win the map 250-165. Map two was search and destroy on Arklov Peak, and both teams had some great rounds, but it all came down to a round 11 where Carleton was able to find the last kill with 0.1 seconds left on the round to win the game. Because match three was not a scheduled match, we did not stay on with them and jumped to match four but Carleton did end up winning map three to win the series 3-0. Match Four: Georgia Southern (10-0) vs. Louisiana Tech (8-1) Map one was hardpoint on Hackney Yard, and it saw both teams looking like strong competitors, but Georgia Southern prevailed winning 250-215. The second map was search and destroy on Arklov Peak, where the teams traded round after round to force a round 11, which saw Georgia Southern win to go up 2-0 in the series. The third map was domination on Gun Runner, where Louisiana Tech came out strong and went up 86-66 at halftime. The second half was another great half from Louisiana Tech as they won 172-132 to force a game four, which was hardpoint on St. Petrograd. The first rotation of hills saw both teams in a close fight with Louisiana Tech up 133-107, and then it looked like Louisiana Tech had it 249-226 but the players on rotation didn’t win the gunfights and Georgia Southern took control of the hill and didn’t let up and won the map 250-249 and the series 3-1.
