RECAP: WEEK NINE, NIGHT ONE

Match One: Alabama vs. LSU Match one of the night saw the teams start off with hardpoint on St. Petrograd. Alabama had a great game all around and were able to break into LSU holds as well as hold off LSU when they had a hill as they won map one 250-162. Map two was search and destroy on Gun Runner and Alabama tried playing wildly the whole time but was punished for it as LSU pulled off the win 6-4 to tie the series 1-1. Game three was domination on Hackney Yard and LSU started on the non favored side but was able to ride the momentum from the last game and go up 79-63. Alabama was able to fight back in the second half and won the game 159-134. Game four was hardpoint on Gun Runner where Nix and Hancho did an amazing job slaying out as they won the game 250-159 and the series 3-1. Match Two: GCU vs. UT Arlington Match two started with a hardpoint on Hackney Yard and it came down to the wire. UTA was able to rotate to hill one at the end and hold it to win 250-245 to go up 1-0. Map two was Arklov Peak search and destroy and UTA came out strong and won 6-3. Game three was Gun Runner domination and GCU came out strong and finished off the first half up 88-68. GCU kept the pressure going and won 171-138 to extend the series. Game four was hardpoint on St. Petrograd and it was also very close, but GCU fought for the win 250-203 to force a game five. Game five was search and destroy on Gun Runner where UTA came out strong not having the thought of possibly being reverse swept in mind and went up 4-1 but GCU started the comeback to tie it 4-4. UTA was able to get off a defuse to win their fifth round but GCU fought right back to force a game five round 11. It was an intense round but UTA was able to win the round and the series 3-2.
