CCL 2021 STATS CHANGES

12.22.2020 // By: College CoD

As the College CoD team continues to prepare for the 2021 season, there is one roadblock at hand which needs addressed - Stats. Internally, College CoD has tried it’s best to keep record of individual player stats and offer those collected to the community. However, the quality of information presented is directly affected by the wants of the community. This year, due to the difficulty of retrieving meaningful individual player stats, we’re looking for feedback on how YOU want to submit stats and what YOU would like shown.

Minimum Requirements

As the minimum across all methods of collecting stats from teams, we will asking for the Map Name, Game Mode, and Map Score to be shown at the end of a match. As usual, rules will also be in place surrounding how to report this minimum information.

Now to briefly talk about the methods we are considering to collect stats information and the various pros and cons. After reading through, we encourage you to vote on the following Twitter Poll.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 1:
After Action Report [Scrolling / Season 1 Method]

Breakdown:

After every map, a player from the team must scroll through all players in the report and submit a video recording so that stats can be viewed and recorded into the database. This requires all players to remain in-game until they are sent back to the lobby. Recording the report would be the responsibility of the winning team. See the rulebook for more info on the responsibility.

What you get:

-- Score, Damage, Obj Stat, Elims, Deaths, Obj kills

Potential risks:

-- Requires a player to clip a video of them scrolling through the after action report. This needs to be high enough quality to review, i.e. Youtube or Twitch @ 720p.
-- The after action report could break and provide innaccurate stats.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 2:
Theater Mode [Scrolling / Season 1 Method modified]

Breakdown:

After every map, a player must rewatch the match in theater mode and scroll through all players in the report and submit a video recording of the after action report so that stats can be viewed and recorded into the database.

-- The game replay could corrupt, making any recording impossible.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 3:
CodCaster Data View [Screenshot]

Breakdown:

An additional person must be present in codcaster and capture a screenshot of the data view on match completion. This requires all players to remain in-game until they are sent back to the lobby. Reporting the screenshot would be the responsibility of the winning team. See the rulebook for more info on the responsibility.

What you get:

-- Score, Damage, Extensive Obj Stat, Kills, Deaths, Streak, Weapon

Potential risks:

-- Large integrity risk with a viewer in codcaster. CCL is unable to logistically provide vetted third party viewers for this.
-- This also removes 1 of the 2 codcaster slots for teams looking to run production for their own matches.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 4:
No Extra Stats [Screenshot]

Breakdown:

After every map, a player from the team must capture a screenshot of the after action report. This requires all players to remain in-game until they are sent back to the lobby. Recording the report would be the responsibility of the winning team. See the rulebook for more info on the responsibility.

What you get:

-- Score, Damage, Condensed Obj Stat

Potential risks:

-- Requires a player to submit a screenshot of the after action report.
-- The after action report could break and provide innaccurate stats.
